There is more than one way for Bobby Hatchett to help the Scott County Central boys basketball team win games.

In the highly anticipated rematch of the Braves' memorable game against rival Sikeston from a year ago, Hatchett was content to let his teammates handle the scoring duties.

Instead, Scott County Central's senior leader and all-state point guard focused on applying defensive pressure and finding his teammates on offense to help his team avenge last season's one point loss with a convincing 70-51 victory on Wednesday at the Show Me Center.

I'm the type of person I'm not going to rush nothing," Hatchett said, who contributed 14 points. "I'm not going to try to do too much. I let my game come, and tonight I didn't have to have 20 points, so they helped me out and that's how we got the 'W.'"

Two nights later Hatchett, the Southeast Missourian Player of the Week, showed off his scoring skills in an 84-51 victory over Oran.

Hatchett hit four 3-pointers against the Eagles and lead all scorers in the game with 26 total points.
