Southeast Missouri under flood, storm watch

Thunderstorms and possible floods are being predicted by the National Weather Service office in Paducah, Ky.

Missouri counties included in the hazardous weather outlook are Cape Girardeau, Scott, Bollinger, Stoddard, Perry, Ripley, Butler, New Madrid and Mississippi; as well as Alexander County, Ill.

Damaging winds, large hail and the slight chance of tornadoes are included in the forecast.

Heavy rain, expected to continue through Tuesday, could lead to flooding in low-lying and poorly drained areas, the weather service statement said.
