Nearly 90 area employers are registered to meet Southeast Missouri State University students of all majors at the first-ever fall 2014 Career and Internship Fair on Thursday in the Student Recreation Center-North.

The event is from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Students interested in exploring internships or career opportunities as they begin to transition to work or graduate school should attend, said Joyce Hunter, outreach and events coordinator for Southeast's Career Services.

Organizations attending the fair include the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis, Federal Bureau of Investigation, S.M. Wilson & Co., U.S. Peace Corps, Buchheit Inc., NISC, Perry County School District No. 32, Noranda Aluminum, United States Probation and others.

A complete, updated list can be found on the Career Services website at https://semo.wufoo.com/reports/s6ipcwh061kcku.

Students who attend the fair are encouraged to dress professionally, bring an updated copy of their resumes and research each company they plan to visit ahead of time.

Preferred dress for men is a dress shirt, tie, slacks, dress shoes and socks. For women, it's a dress blouse (nothing low cut, tight or that shows midriff), jackets/twin sweater sets, modest-length skirts, dresses, pantsuits and dress shoes. If students do not have these particular garments, collared shirts, khaki pants and Dockers, and dress shoes are acceptable.

Those unable to attend may upload their resumes in Southeast's e-recruiting system REDConnect to the Fall Career Fair Resume Book, where employers will be able to view the resumes before and after the event.
