"The idea came from a conversation our provost, Dr. Bill Eddleman had with other chief academic officers from around the state. Dr. Eddleman offered the expertise of his mathematics faculty here at Southeast Missouri State University to help others begin thinking about how they might revise their developmental mathematics courses," Randolph wrote.

The main objective of the summit is to "share our knowledge about our most current developmental mathematics redesign with our colleagues from the other two- and four-year institutions of higher education across Missouri."

Randolph said the timeline for changes in Southeast's developmental math curriculum will take place this fall. "The changes have already been approved through the appropriate channels," she wrote.
