MINER, Mo. -- A Matthews, Mo., man was killed after his motorcycle struck a cow Thursday in New Madrid County, the Sikeston Standard Democrat reported.

According to Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 7:40 p.m., Larry L. Taylor, 48, was traveling on Route AA, four miles south of Miner when his motorcycle struck a cow in the road. Taylor's motorcycle ran off the road and overturned. Taylor was pronounced dead at the scene at 8:40 p.m. by New Madrid County deputy coroner Ralph Barnwell. Taylor was taken to Shelby Funeral Home in East Prairie.
