Four Southeast music students earned honors at the Missouri Music Teachers Association State Competition held at the University of Missouri-Kansas City last month.

Among the winners were David Bohnert, a senior trumpet player from Perryville, who took first place in the Undergraduate Honors Division; and sophomore Bryan Hardester, a trombonist from Arnold, who finished second in the Undergraduate Honors Division.

Other winners were Yuko Fujuki, a senior keyboardist from Japan, honorable mention in the College Upper Division; and Kevin Hill, a trumpet player from Burfordville, who received an honorable mention in the Undergraduate Honors Division.

Bohnert and Hill are students of Marc Fulgham, instructor of music. Hardester is a student of Robert Gifford, a professor of music and secondary education. And Fujuki is a student of James Sifferman, an associate professor of music.
