SOUTHEAST DEBATE STUDENTS PLACE SECOND

A Southeast Missouri State University two-person debate team won second place Oct. 4-6 at the University of Missouri-St. Louis debate tournament.

Team members Joanne Jenkins of O'Fallon, Ill., and Leslie Pace of Arnold, Mo., defeated the University of Texas in the octo-finals, Central Missouri State in the quarter-finals and Western Kentucky University in the semi-finals.

The Southeast University squad placed second in final-round debates with a team from Vanderbilt University.
