CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- A son was arrested for allegedly holding his father at gunpoint and robbing him.
Caruthersville police were called to a house on West 18th Street at 9:19 a.m. Wednesday for a report of a son who assaulted and robbed his own father.
"The male stated his son had assaulted him and took a loaded pistol from him by force and pointed the gun at his father and ordered to open the safe," said Caruthersville City Marshal Chris Riggs. The man stated the son took some medication from the safe and went upstairs in the residence.
Officers were able to take the 34-year-old suspect into custody without incident. He was being held Thursday morning in the Pemiscot County Jail on charges of first-degree assault, first-degree robbery, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon and felonious restraint. Bond is set at $215,000.
