A call of smoke inside the building at about 4 p.m. forced the evacuation of about 25 people from the Save-a-Lot grocery store in Cape Girardeau.
Fire department radio traffic indicated a call of light smoke inside the building, which was evacuated while crews entered to investigate the store at William and South Sprigg streets.
The fire department called an all-clear soon after they arrived on scene. Firefighters at the scene said the smoke was likely caused by an electrical issue with a refrigeration unit. There was no fire, and no injuries were reported.
