BONNE TERRE, Mo. -- A small earthquake has left some people a little shaken in eastern Missouri.

The Daily Journal in Park Hills, Mo., reported the magnitude-2.6 tremor occurred at 7:22 a.m. Monday. The U.S. Geological Survey says the epicenter was five miles northeast of Bonne Terre in St. Francois County.

No injuries or property damage were reported in Bonne Terre or surrounding areas where the quake was also felt.

The tremor was just slightly stronger than the magnitude at which earthquakes can generally be felt.

Bonne Terre is about 50 miles southwest of St. Louis.
