The 2002 Procter & Gamble Fund Scholarship has awarded 141 scholarships to outstanding students from across the country who are children of P&G employees.
Each scholarship provides the winner with a $2,500 award for full-time study at an accredited university.
From the Cape Girardeau P&G facility, the six students selected were Eric Daume, son of Wayne and Becky Daume of Cape Girardeau; Elizabeth Holst, daughter of Robert C. Holst Sr. and Yong Shin Choe of Jackson, Mo.; Kelli Niswonger, daughter of Ron and Ruth Niswonger of Jackson; Kyla Janae Smith, daughter of Barb and Sam Herndon and Rodney and Judy Smith of Jackson; Benjamin R. Statler, son of Steven and Janet Statler of Jackson; and Jeremiah Townsend, son of Jon and Tonyua Townsend of Chaffee, Mo.
Scholarships are awarded based on the candidates' academic achievements, leadership skills, accomplishments outside the classroom and school recommendations.
Recipients are selected by Scholarship & Recognition Programs, which administers scholarship programs for corporate sponsors.
