BLOOMFIELD, Mo. -- Four Bloomfield residents sustained moderate injuries in a Friday night wreck on Route AD, two miles north of Dexter, Mo., and two Dexter teens were also hurt in another wreck Sunday afternoon on Highway 25, two miles north of Bernie, Mo., according to the Missouri State Highway Patrol.
The Friday wreck occurred as a 2003 Chevrolet, driven by 29-year-old Crystal D. Bostic, reportedly swerved to avoid striking a deer in the roadway, ran off the right side of Route AD and struck a bridge. Injured in the wreck were the driver and three passengers: Timothy B. Pruett, 24; Danielle M. Terry, 23; and Jeffrey R. Terry, 28; all of Bloomfield. All were taken by ambulance to Missouri Southern Healthcare in Dexter with moderate injuries.
Just before 3 p.m. Sunday, Madison N. Pixley, 16, of Dudley, was southbound on Highway 25 north of Bernie when she attempted to pass another southbound vehicle and in doing so reportedly veered into the right lane of traffic, lost control and slid off the right side of the highway, striking a pole and then overturning.
Pixley and a passenger, 15-year-old Jordan A. Fitts, both suffered injuries. Both were taken to Missouri Southern Healthcare by ambulance.
Both the Pixley vehicle and the Bostic vehicle were considered to be totaled in the accidents and were towed from the scene. All six involved in the two accidents were wearing seat belts.
