Cape Girardeau County's temporary planning commission will hold six public meetings on the county planning ballot issue.
The issue is on the Nov. 7 ballot. Voters will be asked to approve county planning, which would clear the way for the Cape Girardeau County Commission to implement planning and zoning regulations.
The first meeting is set for Tuesday at Millersville Elementary School. The others are Thursday at the Cape County Administrative Building in Jackson, Sept. 27 at Notre Dame High School in Cape Girardeau, Sept. 28 at Delta High School, Oct. 3 at Oak Ridge School and Oct. 5 at Fruitland Elementary School.
All of the meetings begin at 7 p.m.
Roger Arnzen, director of county mapping, said the county commission expects to have at least one of its members at each meeting.
Arnzen said the temporary planning commission wants to educate the voters about the ballot issue and obtain input from the public on any changes they would like to see in the proposed regulations.
