SIU-C AWARDS SCHOLARSHIP TO STUDENT FROM THEBES

Thomas H. Farris III, of Thebes, Ill., has been awarded a scholarship to attend Southern Illinois University at Carbondale.

Farris, a May 1995 graduate of Shawnee College, has been selected to receive the SIU-C Academic Scholarship, which will cover full tuition charges.

Farris, the son of Thomas and Mary Farris, has been named to the president's list, earned the math student award and was listed in Who's Who Among Students in American Junior Colleges. He plans to study civil engineering.

Recipients of the scholarship must have a minimum grade point average of 3.5.
