BENTON -- The Sisters of St. Francis of Mary Immaculate (Joliet Franciscans) will honor Sister M. Rosabel LeGrand, originally of Benton, for 50 years of service to the sisterhood.

LeGrand was born in Benton, Nov. 25, 1914. She attended St. Denis Grade School in Benton, and St. Francis Academy in Joliet for high school. She received a bachelor's degree from the College of St. Francis.

LeGrand has taught primary, intermediate and junior high school in Illinois, Ohio and Missouri for more than 50 years.

She is currently serving at Our Lady of Angels Retirement Program as the director of volunteers. She plans two social hours per week for the residents and provides volunteers who will transport the residents shopping, or to and from therapy and for many other services.
