JACKSON -- Old-time craft making will be on display July 20 and 21 at the St. Louis Iron Mountain and Southern Railway in Jackson.
The Silver Dollar City Crafters Guild will make a stop at the railway to demonstrate and sell their crafts.
About 40 crafters will fill the grounds for the two days, and admission is free, said Mary Strong with the railway.
They will demonstrate making everything from homemade root beer to hand-made trunks, Strong said.
Other skills on display will be basket weaving, doll making, wood carving, stained glass, quilting and making of apple butter. Strong said the crafters will be dressed in costumes from the 1880s.
The displays will be held July 20 from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and July 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. A drawing will be held for a weekend for four at Silver Dollar City.
In conjunction with the crafters weekend will be kids weekend. Cinder, the railroad mascot; Tweedy and Sylvester will be on hand to greet kids. Train rides will be July 20 at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. and a pizza train will run at 6 p.m. Trains on July 21 will run at 11 a.m., 1 and 3 p.m.
Strong said the last weekend in July will be Bonnie and Clyde weekend, where trains will be "robbed" by Bonnie and Clyde.
