Sikeston woman killed in car accident near Scott City
A Sikeston woman was killed in a one vehicle accident Friday. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Shirley A. Amos, 73, was driving northbound on Interstate 55, one mile south of Scott City, when her vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned. According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, at 1:30 p.m. Friday, Shirley A. Amos, 73, was driving northbound on Interstate 55, one mile south of Scott City, when her vehicle ran off the right side of the road and overturned. Amos was transported by ambulance to Saint Francis Medical Center where she was pronounced dead.
The death is the 48th fatality in the patrol's Troop E in 2008.
