Witnesses told police Baker pushed Miles into a stove during an argument. Baker then went outside and Miles got a knife from the kitchen. The stabbing occurred when the two encountered each other again at the front door, witnesses said.

Baker was stabbed once in the chest. Attempts to resuscitate him in the emergency room at Missouri Delta Medical Center failed.

Miles is being held without bond at the Sikeston Department of Public Safety. She will be transferred to the Scott County Jail.
