SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston police arrested a man this week suspected of being the "Notorious North End Burglar."

Turriel L. Williams, 19, of Sikeston, was charged with four counts of felony first-degree burglary and four counts of felony first-degree tampering with a motor vehicle.

The burglaries and car thefts occurred on the north-central end of Sikeston from December up to Monday, according to a news release from the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

Early Monday morning a resident called police about a burglary in progress, the release stated. Williams was taken into custody following a chase.

Williams' bond was set at $250,000.

According to the release, Williams said he continued to burglarize the same area because many residents left their doors unlocked or keys in their vehicles.
