Sikeston police investigating armed robbery at Dollar General

SIKESTON, Mo. -- Sikeston police are investigating the armed robbery of a business.

At approximately 8:04 p.m. Monday the Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a call reporting a robbery at the Dollar General Store at 925 E. Malone.

According to the report, a black male described as wearing a blue hooded sweat shirt and red jogging pants entered the building armed with a knife and demanded money from the employee.

The suspect then left the store with an undetermined amount of money and fled on foot.

"At this time there is no age, weight, height," said Capt. John Martin of the DPS about the suspect.

No injuries to the employee were reported.
