SIKESTON, Mo -- Sikeston police arrested a local dentist and a veterinarian in connection with drug charges Friday after both doctors turned themselves in. Ted Lewis, 51, and Stephen Curry, 30, both of Sikeston, were the subjects of a narcotics investigation that began in the summer, according to Sgt. James McMillen, spokesman for the Sikeston police. They face charges of distributing controlled substances without a license. A Scott County grand jury indicted both Curry and Lewis after narcotics detectives presented evidence of the distribution. Lewis was charged on eight counts of distributing controlled substances without a license. He was released after posting $25,000 bond. Curry faces eight counts of distributing controlled substances without a license, eight counts of forgery and two counts of theft of a controlled substance. He was released after posting $50,000 bond.
