MINER, Mo. - An two-car accident on Route HH injured two Sikeston residents Monday evening.

The accident occurred around 6:30 p.m. west of Route H when a 1996 Freightliner failed to slow down and ran into the rear of a 2004 Ford Taurus, the Missouri State Highway Patrol said.

The driver of the Freightliner, Seth C. Peters, 28, of Cape Girardeau, was not injured. The driver of the Taurus, William C. Cooper, 46, and the occupant, Donald E. Strain, 19, were both treated for moderate injuries at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

All three people involved in the accident were wearing their seat belts, the highway patrol said.
