SIKESTON MAN FATALLY INJURED IN COLLISION

SIKESTON -- Shawn D. Ergle, 20, of Sikeston died in a two-car accident around 6 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 61 just inside the northern Sikeston city limits.

Scott County Deputy Coroner Randy Jones said he believed Ergle was killed instantly but hadn't made a definite determination yet.

Another person was injured in the accident and airlifted from the scene, but Jones didn't know the person's identity.

The Sikeston Department of Public Safety, which responded to the accident, said details would be made available today.
