SIKESTON -- A Sikeston man was found dead Saturday after an apparent accident while riding his horse at a farm east of Sikeston.

Wallas R. Adams, 56, was last seen Friday about 6:30 p.m., said Scott County Sheriff Bill Ferrell. His body was discovered about 8:30 a.m. in a field.

There was no indications of foul play, Ferrell said. The body was found in the same area as the horse he had been riding earlier Friday.

The body was turned over to Scott County Coroner Scott Amick, who said he thought Adams died from injuries when he was thrown from the horse.
