SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston, Missouri, man has been charged with first-degree murder and unlawful possession of a firearm.

Craig "Pico" Marks, 35, turned himself in to the Sikeston Department of Public Safety about 4:50 p.m. Sunday. Marks was being sought for the early Sunday morning shooting of Tyrell Banks, 22, of Haywood City, Missouri. Banks later died from his wounds.

Capt. James McMillen, department public information officer, stated in a news release that at approximately 3:15 a.m. Sunday, the department received a call about the shooting at a residence in the 800 block of Mary Street. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Banks with a gunshot wound to the chest.

The SEMO Major Case Squad was activated, and officers began investigating.

"After interviewing several subjects regarding Banks' last few hours alive, we learned this shooting was apparently over an ongoing issue with Craig Marks," McMillen said in the release.
