BENTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston, Missouri, man is in custody for allegedly stealing a handgun and cellphone, according to the Standard Democrat. Timothy R. Achter, 27, is charged with felony stealing a firearm and with stealing less than $500, a misdemeanor. About 7 p.m. Sunday, Scott County deputy Danny Finley responded to an residence on Rainbow Lake Road. The victim reported the theft of a handgun and a cellphone, according to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter. "Deputy Finley conducted an investigation into the theft, and using information supplied by the victim, and witness interviews, determined that Achter was the perpetrator of the crime," Walter said in a news release.
