SIKESTON, Mo. -- A Sikeston businessman faces a sexual assault charge following an investigation by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.
The Sikeston Standard Democrat reported James Luther Brown, 57, of Sikeston is charged with a class C felony charge for sexual assault, according to Sgt. Jim McMillen, public information officer for DPS.
A Sikeston woman alleged Brown, her employer, was making unwanted sexual advances toward her earlier this month while working at Brown's Auto Service at 822 E. Malone. The woman said the man locked the office doors and forced her to have sex with him.
Brown was later charged through the Scott County Prosecuting Attorney's office, and on Aug. 6, he turned himself into the Mississippi County Sheriff's Office for the warrant. He was later released after posting a $50,000 cash or surety bond.
