SIKESTON, Mo. -- The southbound rest area along Interstate 55 at Marston will be closed beginning Monday for renovations.
The project should take about five weeks. The Missouri Department of Transportation will have contractors on-site to replace windows, install air conditioning and fixtures.
MoDOT is in the process of upgrading its rest areas throughout the state. Facilities at Steele and Fruitland have already been improved; Bloomsdale will be renovated later in the year, MoDOT District Engineer Scott Meyer said.
