SIKESTON -- The seventh annual Judged Show for area artists will be open to the public Sunday, April 27 through Friday, May 3 at the Sikeston Savings of America.
The show, sponsored by the Sikeston Art League, is open to all artists within a 100-mile radius of Sikeston. Entries will be accepted April 26 and 27.
The show will be judged by Marguerite Mayer of St. Louis, who has been a full-time artist since 1984 and has had numerous one-woman shows.
Voted last year Artist of the Year in the south county area, Mayer now is on the executive board of the St. Louis Artists Guild, vice president and past president of the South County Art Association, and a member of the greater St. Louis Art Association.
Mayer works with oils and watercolors and has attended workshops with Daniel Greene and Cleda Curtis.
Artist may enter a maximum of three pieces of work for the entry fee of $6. All entries must be original. Ribbons and cash prizes will be awarded. For more information, call Virginia Butrum, chairman of the show at 471-5771.
