Cape Girardeau police said the man shot in the leg about 10:30 p.m. Sunday near a Hardee's restaurant at 2115 William St. was released from a hospital early Monday morning, according to police Sgt. Adam Glueck.
The man was treated by EMTs at the scene before he was taken by ambulance to a hospital. Glueck did not specify the hospital or give any other information about the victim.
A witness said the gunman was parked near the Rhodes 101 convenience store near Hardee's in a silver BMW. The gunman, in his late 20s or early 30s, stood and fired between six and 10 shots at the victim. Another witness said she saw a different man, between 19 and 20 years old, run by the store and get into the BMW before it drove away.
