GRAIN VALLEY, Mo. (AP) -- One man is dead and another is jailed after a fight outside a suburban Kansas City night club ended in gunfire.

Grain Valley police say two men were fighting outside Whiskey Tango shortly after 3 a.m. Thursday when one of them pulled a gun and fired three rounds into the other man. Officers said when they arrived they found the victim dead next to a pickup truck.

Right away the other man told them that he was the shooter and that he had unloaded the firearm he used and placed it on the hood of a car.

Police said the suspect is in custody, and that charges are pending.

The names of the victim and suspect have not been released.

The bar was closed at the time of the shooting.
