CARUTHERSVILLE, Mo. -- Police said a woman was seriously injured when assaulted with a high-heel shoe.
Caruthersville police reported that at 2:05 a.m. Sunday they were called to a fight at the Midtown Apartments. At the scene, Kaiya Benson, 20, told officers she had been struck in the face several times with a high-heel shoe.
Benson was taken to the Pemiscot Memorial Hospital by ambulance for treatment of her injuries.
The incident remains under investigation as police search for the suspect in the case, according to Caruthersville Police Chief Chris Riggs.
