Philips Consumer Electronics Co., a developer and manufacturer of home entertainment products, has announced the formation of a Philips partnership with Shivelbine Home Entertainment Center, 535 Broadway.
"We're proud to introduce the complete line of Philips-branded home electronics to the Cape Girardeau market," said Fred Gilbert, who was at Shivelbine's last week.
"We'll be introducing a new crop of features at Shivelbine's this fall, including an automatic volume-level control that will eliminate loud commercials, a remote locator-control unit and many other audio and video features, including Digital Compact Cassette.
Philips, headquartered in Knoxville, Tenn., manufactures a number of products in the U.S. and around the world, said Gilbert, regional Philips manager for Southeast Missouri and Southern Illinois.
"We manufacture a number of products in the U.S. and around the world," said Gilbert. "These include Magnavox, Philco, Sylvania, Shick, Norelco, and many other names familiar to most consumers."
The company has an assembly plant in Greenville, Tenn.; picture tube manufacturing facilities in Ottawa Falls, Ohio; cabinet manufacturing in Jefferson City, Tenn.; and plastics manufacturing in Arden, N.C.
