SHAWNEE STUDENT EARN MEMORIAL SCHOLARSHIPS

WOLF LAKE, Ill. -- The second annual Christy Lynn Schaefer Memorial Scholarships have been awarded at Shawnee High School in Wolf Lake, Ill.

The two recipients from the 1992 Shawnee High School graduation class are Tonia Renee Mezo of Wolf Lake and Christopher Aaron Peeler of McClure, Ill. Each student will receive $1,000 for further education.

In selecting the two recipients of the scholarship, consideration is given to students that exhibit outstanding leadership, scholastic achievement, church and community involvement, extra-curricular activity, determination and spirit.

The scholarship is perpetual and will be given annually in Schaefer's memory to Shawnee graduating seniors who plan to attend an institution of higher learning.
