A group of 21 nursing students from Southeast Missouri State University received the Experiential Learning Award last month. The seniors received the award as a result of clinical experiences at two Cape Girardeau hospitals.
The students, enrolled in Nursing Leadership and Management, developed "Service Learning Changes Projects," which required research and presentations on health issues. Projects included "Promoting Prevention of Skin Breakdown," "Improving Nursing Assessment and Treatment of Bowel Dysfunction," and "Increasing Knowledge on Pulse Oxymetry."
