Last-minute filings for several municipal government positions helped bulk up the ballot in some Southeast Missouri cities.

Steven Keller filed for Ward 2 alderman in Perryville on Tuesday, according to the city clerk. He will face incumbent Paul "Butch" Flentge.

Perryville Mayor Debbie Gahan will face Donald L. Horn in her re-election bid. Incumbents Tom Guth and Curt Buerck will be on the ballot for Wards 1 and 3, respectively. Prince Hudson also filed for Ward 3 in December.

In Marble Hill the mayoral race finally has a candidate. Michael Sowers filed for the position Tuesday. Deborah Acup filed for the Ward 1 alderman seat Tuesday, and Beverly Johnson did the same for the Ward 2 seat.

No last-minute filings were reported in Scott City, according to the city clerk. Mayor Tim Porch has filed for re-election, as have all incumbent city council members except for Norman Brant in Ward 4. Ronald Worl, who served as a city council member from 2005 to 2007 in Ward 4, has filed for that ward. Bill Schwartz will run in Ward 1, Pat Brazel in Ward 2, Walter Peetz in Ward 2 and Kirk Lewis in Ward 3.
