Ongoing Perry County Sheriff's Department narcotics investigations led to charges being filed against seven people last week.
Officials charged Donald Wayne Penrose, 28, of Perryville, Mo., with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after he sold seven Xanax pills to a confidential informant March 20, according to a probable-cause statement. The transaction took place near the Perryville Country Club, the statement said.
Amber Dawn Verville Stewart, 24, of Perryville sold two Adderall pills, a psycho-stimulant, to an undercover informant outside Stewart's home April 12, a probable-cause statement said. Officials on June 26 filed charges of possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance against Stewart.
Officials charged Marcus Lynn Walton, 25, and Crystal Jean Lynn, 21, both of Cape Girardeau with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute, endangering the welfare of a child, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia after they took Lynn's 2-year-old son to an arranged marijuana sale outside a Kentucky Fried Chicken restaurant June 27, according to a probable-cause statement.
Prosecutors charged John V. French, 27, of Perryville with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute after an informant bought 10 Adderall pills from French on Jan. 20, according to a probable-cause statement.
Officials charged Joseph Paul McCarthy, 18, of Perryville with possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver after he sold a bag of marijuana to an undercover informant May 8, according to a probable-cause statement.
Online records show Jesse Raphle Deere, 22, of Perryville was also charged June 26 with possession of a controlled substance with intent to distribute.
