Large numbers of Hepatitis A cases reported as near as St. Louis call attention to the importance of safe food handling.

The Cape Girardeau County Public Health Department will provide food handlers training sessions Wednesday and March 25 at the heath center, 1121 Linden. Classes are scheduled at 9 a.m., 1:30 and 7 p.m.

In Jackson, two classes will be presented March 22, at 1:30 and 7 p.m. at the Riverside Regional Library.

The class includes new material including audio visuals and handouts to illustrate safe food handling principles.

The course is free and a certificate of attendance will be awarded.
