A daylong senior citizens' Health, Safety and Summer Fun Fair is scheduled Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Nutrition Center. A daylong senior citizens' Health, Safety and Summer Fun Fair is scheduled Thursday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Cape Girardeau Nutrition Center.

Mini-seminars are planned in the morning and demonstrations and tests will be conducted all day.

Admission is free and door prizes will be awarded. Lunch is available for a donation beginning at 11:15 a.m. by the Nutrition Center.

Seminar topics include "Outdoor Cooking for One," "Summer Home Energy Tips," "Container Gardening," "Pets for Companions" and "Traveling at Home in Cape County."

The seminars include demonstrations and visits by pets up for adoption at the Humane Society.

Among screenings and tests that are scheduled to be completed are cholesterol screening, vision test, blood sugar, blood pressure and hearing test. The cholesterol screening costs $4.
