JEFFERSON CITY, Mo. -- Missouri has two new federal prosecutors.
The Senate last week confirmed the appointments of Richard Callahan and Beth Phillips to be U.S. attorneys. Callahan was a Cole County judge and will be the U.S. attorney for Eastern Missouri. Phillips was an assistant federal prosecutor and will be the U.S. attorney for Western Missouri.
The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reported Tuesday that Missouri Gov. Jay Nixon is likely to appoint aide Paul Wilson to replace Callahan as judge. Wilson is overseeing how Missouri uses federal stimulus money and worked for Nixon in the attorney general's office.
The Kansas City Star reported that Phillips has prosecuted sex crimes and child abuse cases. She also has served on a Child Fatality Review Board.
