The student newspaper at Southeast Missouri State University has won awards for writing and design from the Missouri College Newspaper Association (MCNA).
The newspaper, The Capaha Arrow, was also named Best in Class competing against student newspapers at Missouri universities with approximately the same enrollment.
Individual awards went to editor Nichole Couture for best page one design and editorial/op-ed page; Kelly Butery, feature page; Steve Friedman, sports writing; Michelle Friedrich, feature writing; K.C. Martin, best regular column; Michael Huntington, best political/editorial cartoon; Lou Peukert, photography; and Rob Blackwell, photography.
The awards were given at the MCNA annual convention held recently in Joplin.
