Recent local Republican victors and a university professor and polling expert, Will Miller, will be discussing how the GOP made big gains in 2010 and how it can do so again in 2012 at a panel discussion tonight in Cape Girardeau.
The SEMO Pachyderm Club will host the panel discussion, which begins at 7 p.m. at Dexter Bar-B-Que, and will follow the group's installation of officers at 6:30 p.m.
The panel will include Cape Girardeau County Recorder of Deeds Scott R. Clark, state Rep. Billy Pat Wright, R-Dexter, and Miller, an assistant professor at Southeast Missouri State University who is an expert in polling and author of several articles analyzing the 2010 election. The panel discussion will be conducted by Wayne Bowen, a professor and chair of the university's department of history.
The audience will be invited to participate in the discussion.
