The director of admissions and financial aid at Jefferson College in Hillsboro, Mo., has been hired as admissions director at Southeast Missouri State University.
Deborah Below will begin duties at Southeast on Jan. 7 at an annual salary of $68,000. School officials announced the hiring on Friday.
Below graduated from Southeast. She worked at Southeast from 1990 to 1994. She served in a number of positions including interim assistant director of residence life, acting director of admissions and admissions counselor.
Below received a Young Alumni Merit award from the university earlier this year.
Dr. Pauline Fox, vice president of administration and enrollment management at Southeast, said Below has strong managerial and communications skills.
Fox said Below in her new job would work to refine the university's student recruitment plan.
Below replaces Jay Goff, who left Southeast in May to take a job as dean of enrollment management at the University of Missouri-Rolla.
