Two Southeast Missouri State University faculty members have been appointed to posts with the Conference on English Education (CEE).
The group is a teacher educators' organization within the National Council of Teachers of English.
Katherine Parrish, an associate professor of English, will serve as a member of the Commission on the Preparation and Professional Development of English Language Arts Teachers.
Linda Burns, professor of English and secondary education, will serve on the Commission on Teacher Licensing and Assessment.
The National Council of Teachers of English is a professional organization for teachers and supervisors of English at all levels of education. Its aim is to improve the teaching of English and the language arts in the nation's schools and colleges.
The council conducts national meetings and smaller conferences, and publishes journals and professional books on problems and issues in the teaching of English.
