After a five-week stay in Scotland, members of the Southeast Missouri State Golden Eagles marching band returned to Southeast Missouri Sunday evening.

The band had performed in the prestigious military tattoo while in Scotland.

"It was wonderful, I wanted to stay," said Erin Fluegger, featured twirler for the Eagles.

A variety of souvenirs returned with the group including kilts, leather coats and Laura Huusko's 24 stitches, which were the result of an accident with her cymbals.

Aaron Moore, clarinetist, and Amy Arnold, drum major, both returned with kilts.

"I'm going to wear mine to class tomorrow," said Arnold.

Moore intends to wear his for the band's Thursday performance at SEMO's home football game against Southern Illinois University-Carbondale.

For Fluegger, the trip's highlight came when she met actor Sean Connery. "He was a guest of honor at the tattoo and I met him later at a dinner party," she said.
