Nominations are being accepted for the first Barrier Freedom Award sponsored by the SEMO Alliance for Disability Independence and the local chapter of the Governor's Council on People with Disabilities.

Beginning Jan. 1, 1995, a Barrier Freedom Certificate will be given, and one of the four yearly recipients will be nominated for the annual award in October. The nomination will be entered for a state award.
