CAPE GIRARDEAU -- Michael J. Roarty, executive vice president of Anheuser-Busch Companies Inc., St. Louis, will be luncheon speaker during a day-long business conference to be held at the Show Me Center on Southeast Missouri State University campus April 2.

The conference will feature a series of 45-minute seminars throughout the day, with major emphasis on marketing. The program starts at 9 a.m. Cost of the seminar is $45, with the fee for the luncheon program only $25. Reservations may be made by contacting the Cape Girardeau Chamber of Commerce, 335-3312.

The theme for the conference is "Quality and Your Business A Compelling Link."

Roarty, who became marketing director at Anheuser-Busch in 1977, has watched his firm's production jump from 25 million barrels of beer products in 1977 to 80.7 million in 1989. Busch's market share increased by more than 22 share points, from 21 percent in 1977 to 43 percent in 1990.

Roarty served as executive vice president and director of marketing until April of 1990. Today he oversees corporate marketing and communications. He is chairman of Busch Media Group, directs the Department of Consumer Awareness and Education and is chairman and CEO of Busch Creative Services.
