SIKESTON, Mo. -- Three persons were to be arraigned today on drug-related charges after two search warrants were served by the Sikeston Department of Public Safety.

Around 4 p.m. Wednesday, the Sikeston Special Operations Group served a search warrant at 507 William. The tactical team made entry into the home and found two subjects inside.

During a search of the home, officers located 42 grams of what appeared to be marijuana and $1,250 in cash. The marijuana was found packaged in 14 separate small plastic baggies, according to a news release issued by the Sikeston DPS.

In addition, officers located another small baggie of marijuana hidden outside, near the back door of the home.

Arrested were Frederick Cotton, 20, and Sabrina Stanberry, 24. Both were charged by the Scott County Prosecutor's Office for the felony of possessing a controlled substance with intent to distribute with bond at $50,000 cash or surety bond.

The following day around 11:20 a.m., Sikeston detectives served another search warrant at 832 Ruth Apt. B. In a search of the home, officers located almost 68 grams of what appeared to be marijuana and $200 in cash. The marijuana was packaged in 25 separate small plastic baggies and hidden inside two fake aerosol cans.

The apartment's occupant, Earnest Lee Nelson, 55, was arrested and charged with felony of possessing a controlled substance with intent to distribute. A $75,000 cash or surety bond was set.

Stanberry posted bond on Saturday while Cotton and Nelson remained in jail Monday morning.
