BENTON, Mo. -- The Scott County Sheriff's Department is cleaning out its gun safe -- and making a little money in the process. During Thursday's county commission meeting, bids were open for the sale of 234 firearms. BENTON, Mo. -- The Scott County Sheriffs Department is cleaning out its gun safe, and making a little money in the process, the Standard Democrat reported. During Thursdays county commission meeting, bids were open for the sale of 234 firearms. Two bids were received. The winning bidder was the high bid of $16,215.50. Also submitted was a bid for $15,370.
