BENTON, Mo. -- Scott County Recorder Tom Dirnberger has been elected president of the Recorders Association of Missouri for the second year.

The election was held in April at the association's training conference in St. Charles, Mo.

As president of the association, Dirnberger also attended the annual conference of the International Association of Clerks, Recorders, Election Officials and Treasurers in Charlotte, N.C., where he attended a seminar on land fraud. An estimated 250 to 400 instances of land fraud have been recorded in Scott County since November 2004.
